Baidu Qianfan Halts Coding Plan Renewals; Token Plan Metered Pricing Set for July Launch

Baidu Intelligent Cloud's Qianfan platform halted all Coding Plan subscription renewals on June 25, 2026 — a decisive strategic reversal for a product launched just four months earlier.

Introduced in February 2026 as a low-friction, end-to-end coding assistant, Coding Plan was differentiated by its multi-model architecture — developers could toggle between GLM-4.7, DeepSeek-V3.2, and other leading models while maintaining interoperability with Cursor and Claude Code. Qianfan's transition terms were clearly stipulated: existing personal subscribers retain access through their current service term; auto-renewal is disabled 30 days post-announcement; and services conclude upon plan expiration.

The emergency suspension does not signal an exit but a strategic reconfiguration of Baidu Intelligent Cloud's generative AI monetization roadmap. Resources and users will be migrated to the forthcoming 'Token Plan Personal Edition', set for early July 2026. The new offering abandons fixed subscription tiers entirely in favor of flexible usage-based pricing, paired with a broader model portfolio.
