On June 25, Meituan staged the inaugural offline experience event for its "AI for Small Shops" initiative in Beijing, signaling the full rollout of a digital-upgrade program designed to empower SME merchants. A dedicated "AI for Small Shops" portal was unveiled on site, granting millions of small and medium-sized restaurants nationwide free access to a suite of professional AI operations courses.

Against the landscape of digital transformation, micro and small restaurant operators are frequently burdened by high operating costs and challenging decision-making. Meituan's newly deployed AI tool matrix — comprising "AI Butler," "Kangaroo Butler," and "Smart Manager" — has already surpassed one million merchants in cumulative service. These tools conduct granular data analysis, deliver evidence-based operational recommendations, and intercept risks in real time — substantially curtailing labor expenditures while meaningfully enhancing day-to-day efficiency.

As the initiative's debut city, Beijing not only showcased how AI technology embeds itself into the bustling, street-level dining ecosystem, but also furnished a replicable blueprint for national expansion. Moving forward, Meituan intends to broaden its geographical footprint, leveraging technology-driven service innovation to help more SME restaurants clear the digital hurdle and secure sustainable gains in operational performance.
